Your Consumer Rights Matter at ATP Emergency & Non-Emergency Plumbing & Heating

At ATP Emergency & Non-Emergency Plumbing & Heating, we don’t just deliver high-quality plumbing and heating services; we also make your consumer rights a top priority. As a trusted plumbing and heating expert, we believe in full transparency and integrity.

What You Need to Know About Your Consumer Rights

1. High-Quality Service with Reasonable Care and Skill

  • Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, all services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. At ATP, we ensure that every job meets professional standards, and if there are any issues, we’re committed to resolving them quickly and efficiently.

2. Quality Goods, Fit for Purpose

  • Any goods we supply are guaranteed to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If they don’t meet these standards, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. We use only high-quality materials to ensure reliability and durability.

3. Understanding Cooling-Off Periods for Off-Premises Contracts

  • When you enter into a contract with a business away from their business premises (such as at your home), the rules differ from those agreed upon at a business location. When you enter into a contract with us, you will usually do so at your home address. Under these conditions, you have the right to a 14-day cooling-off period for most goods and services. If the service has already been completed during this period, payment will be required for any work carried out and goods received. Goods that are cancelled must be returned in their original packaging and resalable condition for a full refund.

4. Your Rights for Faulty Goods or Services

  • If a product or service is not as described or fit for service, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. We ensure our services and materials always align with the highest standards to prevent this.

5. Receipts and Transparent Terms

  • We provide clear, receipts and invoices for every transaction, and our terms and conditions are easy to understand. You’ll always know what to expect, whether it’s service timelines, costs, or the scope of our work.

6. Timely Delivery of Goods

  • If you order goods from us, they will be delivered within the agreed time frame. If a specific time isn't mentioned, we ensure delivery within 30 days of the order.

7. VAT Registration and Clear Billing

  • All our invoices are transparent, with VAT details when applicable. We make sure the pricing is straightforward, with no hidden fees.

8. Protecting Your Data

  • Your personal information is safe with us. We follow strict GDPR guidelines to ensure your data is handled securely and responsibly.

Important Notes

  • If you cancel an order for goods within the cooling-off period, items must be in their original packaging and in a resalable condition to qualify for a refund.
  • If services or goods have already been provided during the cooling-off period, you’ll need to pay for what’s been delivered or completed.
  • The statutory 14-day cooling-off period applies to contracts made at a distance (e.g., over the phone or online) or away from business premises (e.g., at the consumer's home). However, you do not have the right to cancel:
  1. When the service has been fully completed (and the you have already agreed to this). Any goods or services that have already been supplied must be paid for.
  2. For goods that are sealed for health or hygiene reasons if opened (e.g., some types of plumbing materials).
  3. For bespoke or personalised items.
  4. For the provision of emergency services.

  • Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if goods are faulty, not as described, or unfit for their purpose, you are entitled to a refund. This refund can be requested within 30 days of receiving the goods.
  • If goods are faulty after the 30-day period but within six months, you are entitled to a repair or replacement. If the repair or replacement is not successful, you have the right to a refund.

Footnote: This is not an exhaustive list of all your consumer rights, but it covers the key points you need to know when engaging plumbing and heating services. For more detailed information, please refer to the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations.
